The research topic of atmospheric aerosols involves the modelling in climate models and optical properties, with more detail given to mineral dust aerosols and absorbing aerosols. We also compared with observations from satellite plaforms like MODIS or networks of instruments like AERONET.

Atmospheric Chemistry

This research subject is related to the modelling of atmospheric species or aerosols like secondary organic aerosols in global climate models, with an specific interest in ozone and heterogeneous chemistry. Our activities also cover the improvement of climate models with interactive chemistry to include additional components, together with a better description of the several processes related with them.

Radiative Forcing

Ramiro Checa-Garcia

The research topic of radiative forcing is mostly focused in its estimation for greenhouse gases either well-mixed or inhomogeneous. Most of the calculations has been done with the software SOCRATES-RF.
