Involvement in teaching, such as assisting in excursions or in seminars for students working on their diploma and doctors theses. During the last years 8 diploma theses have been prepared in the field of my current research project (mountain forest policy, natural hazards protection policy); supervising these students in their work has been in my responsibility. In 2001/02 involved in the lecture on forest policy and land-use planning.

Since the year 2000/2001, I am offering the following lectures at BOKU:
Sociology of mountain regions (in German language; together with M. Pregernig, 2 weekly hours, winter semester), Land-use planning in alpine regions (in German; together with W. Seher, 2 weekly hours, summer semester).

In course of the new international Master's Programmes MOUNTAIN FORESTRY at BOKU I am coordinating the "socio-economic" lecture bloc (economics, policy and sociology) and I am responsible for the following lectures: (in english language)
Social Issues of Mountain Forestry in an International Context (5 credits)
Mountain Forest Politics and Policies (5)
Policy Analysis and Evaluation (2)
Participatory Methods and Tools for Mountain Forestry Applications (2,5)
The lectures are held together with collegues and guest lecturers.
The Master's Curriculum starts with the summer semester of 2002 (March).

Lecturer in course of the SOKRATES Intensive Programme "Mountain Forests for Production and Protection", May 21 - June 3, 2000, and September 2001 and 2002, Austria: Mountain Forest Policies in European Countries; Administrating Natural Hazards (Natural Hazards, Risk Assessment and Society/ Policy Instruments for Natural Hazards Prevention).(in English language)

In the year 2000, as part of a Study-Abroad-Programme of the AHA society in Vienna, I hold a lecture together with V. Winiwarter (Anthropologisches Institut der Uni Wien) on: Integrating Policy and History: Forests and Society in Comparative Perspective. (in English language; 4 weekly hours)
